In March we focused on welcoming new tech talents to our platform, improving our services, and doing our best to help VanHackers from Ukraine get hired and relocated. We have a lot of work ahead of us as 2022 is shaping up to be a year filled with challenges and opportunities. So, once more, we have a lot of good news to share with you.
New VanHackers joining in!
🤗 Our warmest welcome to more than 19 thousand new VanHackers joining our platform in March! Wow! 🤗
Of all the 19,806 tech talents that started building their dream career with us, 1,891 identify themselves as women. We are thrilled to see this number going up every month.
Many VanHackers got to know more about our service through the referral program. You invite as many friends as you want and get a $500 CAD reward as they get hired! Last month 1,711 candidates sign up to VanHack following friends’ referrals. We hack together!

Women keep on gaining more space in tech and we highlight the fact that 15% of our hires last month identify themselves as women. Another interesting note: two of March’s new hires came from the referral program. This means their friends just got the $500 CAD reward each.

We also want to share the amazing news of four VanHackers from Ukraine getting hired last month! Seeing them start this new chapter of their lives gives us all an extra dose of hope and enthusiasm. Check out two Ukrainian tech talents tell the story of how they got hired and relocated to Canada:
Mariian is a Ukrainian tech talent who got hired and relocated to Canada with VanHack’s help. After accumulating more than 10 years of experience in his home country, in 2019 Mariian decided to move to Canada. He was so serious about immigrating that he left his full-time job to focus on studying English and looking for opportunities. That’s when VanHack came in handy.
A safer environment, better opportunities for his kid, and more chances to travel were some of the reasons why Dmitriy and his wife wanted to live abroad. “I watched youtube vloggers showing their life in Canada. I was very impressed with their friendliness towards children”, he explains. “Our daughter was half the reason why we decided to move”.

Appreciation for every step of the process
The path to an international career starts with completing your profile and submitting your English verification. That’s why we are so happy to inform you that 1,059 new VanHackers did just that in March. Another great news, 4,651 unique candidates applied for job opportunities abroad and 1,831 profiles were sent.
Many VanHackers made progress in their journey to a great job abroad last month. As a result, we had 416 practice interviews completed, 2,038 code challenges finished and 1,250 candidates accessing the English for Tech Talent Course. Way to go! 👏
Expanding our services
You work hard to land that dream international job. And our team focus on proving VanHackers with the best tools to make the dream come true.
➡ In March we posted 340 job opportunities to our platform and offered resources to prepare candidates to get them. We held webinars on speaking with confidence and on how to maximize chances of getting hired through the Women In Tech Fair.
We are constantly tweaking our platform to make it better for you. Some of the minor adjustments last month were the addition of a tech salary calculator and making a new code challenge available. It’s focused on Data Science, did you check it out?
