February has just ended, and we have lots of things to celebrate with our community. Lots of new people joining, many candidates getting a job, and a lot of processes going on! The year started at full speed, as you can imagine.
More than 18,5K new candidates joined our platform to work together on their international job-hunting journey, and we are thrilled to welcome them all.
Let’s jump to an overview
As we mentioned, we had a lot of new people joining our community in February, and I want to share some interesting data about the more than 18K new VanHackers. Over 1400 were invited by another VanHacker using our referral program – and if their friends get hired by one of our partners, they get CAD 500 (awesome, right?).
We also had over 1400 candidates who identified themselves as women. And speaking of that, do you know that we have a Women in Tech event hiring coming up? If you have over 4 years of work experience and haven’t applied yet, I highly recommend you to do so.
Walking towards the dream job abroad
February was a short, but busy month for us. We had 162 new jobs posted on our platform and over 1800 profiles shared with our hiring partners.
And what do those candidates have to do before getting their profiles shared? Complete the mandatory steps to apply for a job. It means having a complete VanHack profile and doing the English verification. Without that, you won’t be able to apply for jobs or hiring events. So, in case you haven’t done it yet, complete the mandatory steps now.
Still talking about job applications, we had over 3400 unique job applicants this month. Let’s keep working (and hacking!) together to help you with international job-hunting.
Speaking of hacking together, over 400 candidates had a practice interview with our fantastic team to help them get ready for the actual interview. And what do candidates say about their practice interviews?
“Practicing and answering potential questions help me understand what to expect during the interview and also give me 100% confidence that I will pass the interview if I practice all the feedback I got during the mock interview.”
“You become aware of things that normally you might not notice unless you talk to someone who has experience training people for interviews.”
“Filled with useful tips and not a single minute went a waste, it was very informative and condescend, the matter, in fact, I thought it won’t be that much helpful, especially that the person is obviously willing to stand by the employee in manners of gaining the position and filling the gaps.”
“The session included key factors that made me improve how to handle the interview. Also, the complete session made me feel comfortable and relaxed. All the flaws were handled in a positive way to improve.”
What about the candidates who got hired?
In February, we had 45 VanHackers getting hired by our hiring partners. The candidates are from 14 different nationalities, and they got a job in Canada, Europe, or the US. We had 2 candidates from Ukraine getting hired, and 11% of the hires identify themselves as women.
Five candidates got fully remote jobs, and the other 40 are starting remote and then relocating to a new country to start the next chapter in their career. We are very proud of all of them.
