According to our data, 15% of the hired VanHakckers applied for 1 to 10 jobs, while over 50% of the hires applied for more than 50. Applying for a large number of positions can be time-consuming, but it also increases your chances of landing an interview. Remember that persistence and resilience are key qualities during a job search.

📃 Build a Strong Profile

A solid online presence is crucial in today’s job market. Ensure your profile stands out by paying attention to these essential elements:

  1. Language Skills: Fluency in English is highly valued, with 95% of successful VanHackers hired have advanced or fluent English proficiency.   2. Code Challenges: Completing code challenges demonstrates your technical abilities and can set you apart from other applicants. Two-thirds of successful candidates have completed at least one code challenge. Jump into some code challenges yourself.
  3. Job Experience: Make sure to highlight your relevant job experience on your profile. A staggering 97% of hired candidates added their job experience, emphasizing its importance in attracting potential employers.
  4. LinkedIn and GitHub: Linking your LinkedIn and GitHub profiles to your VanHack profile adds credibility and allows employers to gain further insights into your professional background. Approximately 92% and 80% of successful candidates included their LinkedIn and GitHub links, respectively. Additionally, regularly update your salary expectations to align them with industry standards.
