It’s that time of the year again! The VanHackathon is just around the corner starting November 22nd.
We’re making some big changes to the format and event, so this blog post will explain how everything works.
The goal of the event is to connect you with Canadian companies that are open to hiring from abroad. We’re creating a virtual environment for you to connect with companies and impress them with your work ethic.
The VanHackathon is a VIRTUAL Hackathon, everything will be online in our Slack Community. JOIN HERE.
Each company will have their own Channel where you can talk to their teams and network with them. Make sure to join Slack to
Companies will share challenges that test the skills they are looking to hire for. There will be many skills companies are hiring for such as Frontend (React, Node, Angular), Backend and QA.
Finally, all the Challenges (what companies share) and Projects (That VanHackers create) will be shared on the VanHack App HERE.
You can also find a link to this in the “More” section of your Top Menu.
The VanHackathon will be held from November 22nd to 29th. You can see the schedule HERE.
The VanHackathon is for developers and designers who want to get hired abroad. We’ll also have 3-5 companies from Canada and Europe who are looking for great tech talent to add to their teams.
Also, we’ll be having a great company from Canada that is hiring 300 developers in 90 days. They need React, Java, DevOps and Machine Learning engineers.
Criteria / Judging
Each company will have their own way to judge what is good code. They will share what they are looking for in the Opening Hangout.
Also, from Monday to Wednesday, we doing PEER REVIEWS of each other’s project and will be using Codacy to automatically review the quality of your code.
There you have it! Make sure to JOIN THE SLACK GROUP and ask any questions you have there in the #general channel.
See you at The VanHackathon!
